Hi guys, not sure if this has been asked before, but as your forum seems as if it vanished I'll ask regardless.
I acquired an HP Z4G4T i910980XE - 32GB ram 1 tb SSD, w/ a 1000W psu.
In: https://www.greenpcgamers.com/hp/hp-ddr ... ade-guide/
It is suggested that a system w/ a 1000W PSU can accommodate a pny geforce rtx 4070 ti 12gb verto graphics, the power requirement for which 285W, and accepts a 1x 16 pin power connector, and is, I believe, is supplied with an adapter accepting dual 8pin to 16 pin.
On inspection of the free connectors from the psu, we have:
2 x 6+2 male "G1" and "G2"
1 x 8 pin female connector that has been adapted to provide a further 2 x 6+2 male "G3" and "G4"
2 x SATA connectors
How can I safely use these connectors to supply power to the 4070ti? Use 2 sets of (dual 6 pin female to 8 pin male)?
Or do I just replace the PSU?
I hope I've explained my question clearly, English is not my first language.
Many thanks for any help on this!

Re: HP Z4 G4 Workstation rtx 4070 ti upgrade
Hello there,
Sorry for the late reply. While I mostly help with Dell workstations, please Give me a A day or two and I can see if I can get you a solid answer Unless someone else answers first.
And yes we lost the original forums at the beginning of the year.

The 1000W Power Supply should work fine with the RTX 4070 Ti.
You'll want to use the "2 x 6+2 male "G1" and "G2"" to connect to the adapter provided with the GPU.
I hope this info helps!

Thank you for this info, I am a little concerned as I have seen conflicting advice on if we can use the 6+2 pin as a 8 pin connector.
I will give this a try next week though. I would be happy to upload pictures of the process if it helps future users.
Many thanks again!
