Z840 "memory fan"

Hopefully just a "glitch" but I walked off from my Z840, returned and heard a lovely high speed fan noise.
Ran HP Performance Analyzer, and "Memory Fan 1" was at 0rpm. Powered off, reseated fan shroud, powered up - no problem. For now.
Are the "circular" fans (not the standard 80/90mm case fan types) replaceable? Or is that "new shroud time"?
