So recently i've upgrade my HP Z420 workstation to a gaming pc by switching to 750w PSU, GTX 1080ti GPU and Intel Xeon E5-2687w v2 CPU. I also reinstall a clean Win 10 22h2 instead of win 11 23h2 that i'd used before. However ever since i've done these upgrade, my z420 has a boot loop problem and everytime the system reboot i have this error message from the bios:
929-Fatal MCA error
CB0/LLC5 error detected CPU 0
Memory hierachy error
Has anyone found any solutions for this kind of bulls***? I've tried many solutions including un-plug all connect cables from PSU to mainboard, reseating, moving to different slots and cleaning RAM, reseating and cleaning CPU, re-install windows... It actually solved the problem BUT if i shutdown the PC and turn it on 3 or 4 hours later or the day after, this boot loop happen again. It's been 2 weeks since i've this problem I'm so frustrated right now...

Re: HP Z420 Boot Loop Problems
It sound like a CPU issue. One thing you can do is reseat it by removing the CPU and reinstalling it but you already did that, also could be the CPU itself that needs to be replaced... If you are able to, I would suggest either use a old CPU you have lying around or getting the cheapest CPU that can work in your system and use that to test tith.
EDIT
I have found this on the HP support page but you may not like the answer they gave

Thank you for your reply, i found a solution yesterday. It turns out my 4x Micron REG RAM kit was in bad condition so i've replaced them with 4x new and my problem solved!stormsonweathers wrote: Fri May 24, 2024 6:31 pm It sound like a CPU issue. Re: HP Z420 Boot Loop Problems
That's great news! Replacing the ram would have been a lot easier in some cases cheaper than replacing the motherboard as HP suggested.
Hopefully this will help out someone else in the same predicament in the future.
Thanks for replying back with the news!
